Label Daddy contacted ICU Computer Solutions with the intention of building a new network that needed to be active and fully operational once they relocated from California to Nevada at the end of March 2023. After a site visit and inspecting their distribution room / telecommunications closet (TC), we noticed it was cluttered and needed a network rack, as depicted in the BEFORE images below.

A well-organized and clean distribution room is crucial as it is the central junction point for all equipment and wiring for devices connected to the local area network.

We terminated all cables and organized all the network connections to new patch panels, with all wires tested for flawless performance and clearly labeled for future diagnostics. To complete this project, we utilized UniFi from our partner, Ubiquity. UniFi is an ecosystem that generally includes: wireless access, point routers, switches, security cameras, controller appliances, VoIP phones, and access control products. In this case, the UniFi solution was an excellent choice because it enabled us to provide a commercial-grade, highly secure network and VPN without any license or subscription, which was one of Label Daddy's key requirements.

In addition, our "VPN from anywhere" solution securely backs up their network and enables access to their file server for advanced diagnostics. UniFi can make all this happen securely using UniFi Identity-as-a-Service (IDaaS) platform that provides Cloud-based identity authentication and management services.

As we deployed the UniFi solutions, we also utilized the UniFi Network application, which is FREE software that runs on Windows, macOS, or Linux. It offered a simple, safe, and very effective path for Label Daddy's employees, their visitors, and customers to protect Label Daddy's network.

Overall, UniFi from Ubiquity was an excellent choice and a powerful tool that provides secure and easy VPN access without expensive firewalls or complicated settings and configurations.
